A CLEARER WAY TO COUNT

About HoursCounter

Small tools for the hours that make up your day.

Time math should be easy to check

HoursCounter is an independent collection of free tools for work hours, timesheets, lunch deductions, and time conversions. We build for people who want a quick answer and a clear record: employees checking a shift, freelancers adding project time, and small teams preparing a timesheet.

Each tool puts the inputs and result together. You can see the minutes behind the total, switch formats, and export a report without creating an account.

A calculation you can understand

Our shared calculation engine uses integer minutes and an explicit set of rules. Paid breaks remain included; unpaid breaks are deducted. Overtime is grouped by workweek. Rounding is off until you enable it. Date and time-zone calculations are available for daylight saving changes.

Our calculation methodology explains those assumptions and gives examples you can verify. The site provides estimates; it does not replace a payroll system or determine which employment rules apply to a worker.

Your entries belong to you

Time entries are calculated in your browser. We do not require employee information or collect the values entered into the calculators. Saving is optional and uses your browser’s local storage. Read our privacy policy for the details.

Built to improve through use

HoursCounter maintains the tools and their explanatory guides. We check core examples, overnight behavior, weekly overtime, and conversion results as the tools change. If something looks wrong or a workflow is missing, prepare feedback with the values you entered and the answer you expected.
